Cancellation

Cancellation and rescheduling

Things come up, and we would far rather hear about it than have a technician standing on an empty driveway. Here is how to move an appointment and the single case where a charge applies.

01

Moving or calling off an appointment

Three business hours of notice before your window opens is what we ask for. If the visit is set for noon to four, a call before nine that morning clears it.

A cancellation only counts once you have spoken to a live agent, who will read you a cancellation code over the phone. A voicemail left outside office hours does not cancel anything, so please do not rely on one.

02

Changes on the day

Room is held in each day's schedule for urgent calls, which means early word from you usually gets somebody else seen that same afternoon.

Phone in, get an agent on the line, and note down the cancellation code. That code is your evidence the booking was called off properly.

03

The $125 fee, and when it is charged

Calling off or moving a visit without following the steps above brings a reduced service call fee of $125, payable within twenty-four hours of the time the original appointment was due to start.

The same charge applies where a technician reaches the address and finds nobody home, or finds the appliance walled in and unreachable. A sentence at booking about where the machine sits, plus any gate code or dog to shut away, keeps this from ever coming up.

04

When the change comes from our side

Every so often the appointment before yours overruns, or a technician gets stuck somewhere. You get a call the moment we know and the pick of the next free slot.

Nothing is charged for an appointment that we moved.

05

Deposits on ordered components

Components ordered in specially for obsolete or premium machines can call for payment before the order is placed. That is always put to you beforehand, never afterwards.

Once a special-order component has been bought in, it cannot be sent back.

06

Turning down the repair after diagnosis

Hearing the figure and deciding against the work is entirely your call, and nobody will argue with you about it.

The diagnostic fee still stands and is not refundable, since it pays for the travel and for the time spent working out what had failed. Go ahead with the repair and that fee comes off the total instead.

Something on this page unclear?

Call the office and ask. None of this is written to catch anyone out, and we would rather explain a line than have you guess at it.
