Turning but not heating
Electric dryers lose a heating element or a thermal fuse. Gas dryers lose an igniter or a flame sensor. Both are ordinary parts and ordinary repairs.

A dryer that tumbles without heating is not broken in the way most people assume, and running three cycles to dry one load is a fault with a cause worth finding. Gas and electric both.

Symptoms
These six cover nearly all of it. Several of them are also a fire risk, which is why we do not leave them alone once we are in the house.

Nearly always restricted airflow. A vent run packed with lint cannot carry moisture out, so the clothes stay damp no matter how long the drum turns.
A dryer that overheats protects itself by cutting out. That is the machine behaving correctly and telling you the exhaust needs attention.
Drum rollers flatten, idler pulleys seize and belts fray. Running one in that state long enough takes the motor with it, so it is worth catching early.
Usually a snapped belt, occasionally the motor. A drum that spins freely by hand with the machine off points firmly at the belt.
Stop using it and call. Lint against a hot element is how dryer fires start, and this is the one symptom we treat as urgent.
Why Georgetown calls us
Dryer faults and dryer fires share most of their causes, so a repair here always includes a look at the air path, not only the part that failed.
The technician diagnoses the fault, tells you what the repair costs and waits for your yes. Nothing is added to that number at the end of the visit.
You get a day and an arrival window when you book, not a vague promise about this week. If the job before yours runs long, the phone rings before your window closes.
Labor and the parts we install carry a warranty. What it runs to, and the few things it does not, are set out on the warranty page in plain language.
Took two or three cycles to dry a normal load and I assumed the dryer was old and tired. The vent under the house was almost completely packed. Cleared it and one cycle does the job again.

Horrible squealing noise every time it turned. He replaced the rollers and the belt in one visit and pointed out that the thing was weeks away from taking the motor out.

Tell us the brand and what it is doing. Most Georgetown visits are booked for the same day or the next one.
Service area
We work Georgetown and nothing beyond the city line, which is the whole point. A short drive means a tighter arrival window and a technician who knows whether your street is on well water or city supply before he pulls up.
ZIP codes we cover
Most Georgetown addresses sit in one of those three. Do not see your ZIP on the list? Call us anyway. The city line and the ZIP lines do not agree everywhere, and your street may well still be ours.
Questions
Once a year for most households, more often if the run is long, goes under the house, or you dry heavy loads several times a week. It is the single thing that keeps a dryer healthy.
Both are routine for a technician who works on them daily. Gas brings an igniter and a valve into the picture, and those get checked properly rather than guessed at.
Then heat is not the problem, airflow is. Warm wet air that cannot leave the drum simply circulates, and the load stays damp however long the cycle runs.
Yes. Tight closets and stacked pairs are normal in Georgetown homes. Mention the installation when you book so the right amount of time is set aside.
Everything else
One number covers the whole kitchen and laundry room. If a second appliance is playing up, mention it on the same call and the technician looks at both while he is there.

Have the brand and, if you can reach it, the model number from the sticker inside the door or along the frame. It saves a phone call later and gets the right parts into the van the first time.
